The Kaprikel Herd of Anglo-Nubian dairy goats has several aims:
to breed AN goats that conform strictly to the breed standards,
to breed goats that milk well,
to breed goats that are happy and relaxed with human contact,
to keep up a high standard of health in the herd.

Personal contact with goats of all ages, several times every day, is considered vital to ensure that the goats are happy and content with human contact.
Goats are fed good quality dairy feed, the best hay available and greens etc.
All goats go out for paddock exercise daily, according to weather
Female kids are reared individually; bottle fed and gradually weaned according to growth and need.
Male kids are milk fed for as long as they will take the milk.

Our goats are bred to have good udders and produce high quality milk. Udders should be well attached, soft in texture and easily milked by hand

The herd has a high standard of goat welfare and veterinary supervision.
It is subject to CAE annual testing, and the whole herd is negative tested.
